[RENAL CELL CARCINOMA, CLEAR CELL TYPE]. The gross appearance of clear cell carcinoma is very characteristic. The tumor is well demarcated from the surrounding non-neoplastic renal parenchyma by a pseudocapsule. The oblique line shows arbitrary separation between the tumor on the left and the normal kidney on the right. Note a portion of compressed adrenal gland on the top (top arrowhead facing down). The yellow appearance is due to the presence of abundant lipid in tumor cells. An area of hemorrhage is identified on the left by the arrow.
